Process

– still building — Patience please!

To make a stable bowl with classic form out of arbutus (called madrone, madrona or Pacific madrone in the U.S.) is not as simple and straightforward as one might wish.  This section of my website is to briefly show and tell the process that I have developed over the last 25 years that allows me to produce and sell 150 – 200 pieces a year.  Nothing really new, just my particular path through the possibilities.  There are good videos already online for many of these steps, so I don’t go into great detail.  If you have any questions, please email me: bob (at) bobmckaywoodturner (dot) com.
